If you’d like to rig your own spreader bars, we have you covered! Our spreader bars feature 5 swivels (4 wings, 1 main chain). We construct these bars from spring stainless steel, and high grade stainless barrel swivels that are small in size for their strength. We offer these in different sizes and two bar stock diameter “weights” to accommodate the water drag of different lure configurations. These are meant to be rigged the way that we rig our custom bars here in house. We usually recommend Light bars for”lighter” rigging (ie. shell squids without birds). The Heavy bars work well with heavier rigging when using splash birds,and/or full size green machines. In general, the longer the bar – the more flex it has, and the heavier (larger diameter) the bar stock – the less flex it has.

The main chain getscrimped to the center swivel via a small independent drop line made with a separate piece of mono coming out of the top crimp to the swivel. This assures that all of the pressure when fighting a fish is only on the main chain itself, and not on the bar at all. The chafe tubing on the main chain has two crimps on either side of it, one “stopper” crimp on the bottom (hook side), and one crimp on the top (terminal loop side) that acts as a stopper, and attachment for the drop line to the bar. When the bar is in the water, the chafe tube should face up.
Rigging Reccomendations:
48″ Light – Very flexible bar, great for shell squids or mini green machines without birds.
40″ Light – Flexible bar, great for shell squids, or mini green machines without birds.
48″ Heavy – Less flexible, great for full size green machines. Orshell squid/mini green machine bars rigged with birds.
40″ Heavy – Our stiffest bar. Great for full size green machine bars rigged with birds.
