Tuna jigging and saltwater fishing has been growing in Japan and these jigs are a new release, optimized for fall speed these are perfect for bluefin, yellowfin, albacore and much more. The shape of the back side is concave at the bottom end making them drop quicker than other jigs that are flat and made for slow pitch jigging. These come in a few popular colors, my favorite of which are the stock silver holo and the red/gold mix.
They have thick through wiring making them strong enough for the biggest fish, especially made for speed jigging with traditional setups but also accommodating of the rail rod style we have here. The 300g size is 209mm long or about 8.2″ and the 400g size is 230mm or about 9″.
We are the first to receive these jigs, in Japan they’ll be released at the end of May in time for their tuna season opener and we are excited to test them out on the local bluefin.
