What a cool thing to have your own fly line…not bad for an “improper” fly shop. The Tailwater Taper fly line was designed to solve a couple problems that we face in our area, sometimes you need to throw an 80ft cast, then you need to throw a 20ft cast. Most fly lines are good at one thing, long distance or turning over big flies at short distance. The Tailwater Taper fly line has been designed to excel at both things. With a true grain weight design, carrying line in the air for distance casts is easy, but the slightly shorter and more aggressive head makes turning over bigger flies at a short distance equally as easy. The RIO elite core and coating make this the ideal tropical fly line for many scenarios. The dark gray running line not only looks cool and different from other floating fly lines, but it clearly shows where the white and blue head starts on the line. Whether you’re fishing the Tampa Bay Area or any other warm saltwater scenario, the RIO Tailwater Taper is a line designed to check all of the boxes for the saltwater fly fisherman. This line makes sight fishing or blind casting a true pleasure. Maybe one day we will be “proper”, but I hope not. Available in 6-9wt.
