Shimano engineered the flagship Terez BW series of offshore rods with guidance from tournament-winning captains to perform at the highest level. The comprehensive series comprises rods built to conquer any offshore species with models specifically designed for high-speed trolling, slow trolling, deep-dropping, swordfishing, bottom fishing, or live-bait fishing. Shimano constructed the Terez BW blanks utilizing premium rod technologies Hi-Power X, Spiral X and UD Glass blank construction to create the best-in-class durability and feel for the offshore environment.

This combination of rod technologies increases the structural rigidity of the rods so that they remain true under load while enabling anglers to efficiently transfer power through the blank for improved performance when targeting hard-fighting game fish. The Terez BW series features premium componentry with Winthrop, Fuji and Aftco guides for battle-tested performance.

Features:

• Spiral-X – Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano’s patented Spiral X construction enhances catching power for anglers. Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a middle layer of vertical fibers as well as inner and outer layers, both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fiber sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and increased torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fish fighting.
• Hi-Power X – Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of “X” shapes on the rod blank’s outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.
• Winthrop X-Caliber Roller Guides (Bushing) –These are the top-of-the-line roller guides in the Sport Fishing market today. The Winthrop X-Caliber roller guides one-piece frame is designed to stretch and flex with the action of the rod and not give up any strength in the frame. The construction design is free from any welds, seams, bends, sharp edges or screws to avoid unwanted sharp edges to chafe the line. The line cannot get pinched between the recessed roller and frame.
