The Flying Squid is an improved pencil popper with features not seen before on production surface lures. The fins at the head end allow for greater distance when casting into a head wind because of their stabilizing influence which virtually eliminates wobble and therefore cuts way down on wind resistance. The fins also cause substantially more turbulence when the lure is worked, due to the increased square inches of lure body slapping the surface water as it is popped, and pencil poppers are all about commotion on the surface. You will quickly notice how much easier it is to work this lure, and how much value the fins add to the total package.
