Daiwa Harrier X Jigging 5’8″ 1-piece rod rated for 80+ pound braid and 2x-heavy power is the rod you need when deep dropping heavy leads and expecting to pull in trophy Halibut and Lingcod. While the blank is lighter in weight than many traditional Halibut rods, it’s superior design and engineering makes it extremely strong and can handle the abuse that offshore fishing tends to bring to our gear.
The Daiwa Tanacom 750 is the most popular power-assist reel on the market for Pacific Halibut. It’s reliable, great drag and lots of pulling power. This reel plugs in directly to your aft battery terminal, or you can modify the power cable with a Marinco plug for easy use anywhere you want to install power hookups on your back deck. Automatic stop-and-jig capabilities take the effort out of jigging for deepwater Halibut and Lingcod. Manual operation is of course an option on this reel as well. Power cable included.
We spool up this combo with P-Line EndurX 80 pound braided line. The reel holds 400 yards, which makes this reel fitting to fish at offshore depths to 800′, typically our maximum depths anywhere on the Pacific Coast.
