The lightest reel in DAIWA history – with Airdrive Design! The 23 Airity combines all components of the new Airdrive design concept and offers maximum sensitivity and smoothness. The CNC-milled drive wheel has been specially coated to achieve an even quieter and smoother run than usual. The Airdrive Shaft creates a low-contact structure on the Pinion gearbox in order to minimize the frictional resistance of the axle and permanently maintain the silky-smooth, almost silent running that characterizes this role. The monocoque construction of the magnesium roller body allows the installation of a larger gear with better power transmission and a longer service life under high loads. The torsion-resistant roller body ensures optimal storage of the gear unit and permanently smooth running. The new airdrive rotor ensures a weight reduction in the upper part of the reel and optimizes the balance of the reel on the rod – better casting feel and optimized sensitivity when guiding the bait are the result. By reducing the rotor weight, the rotor also starts with lower starting resistance and optimizes the reaction. The new, hollow Airdrive bracket is the evolution in bracket design, lighter than all previous DAIWA brackets and yet offers the resilience required to use the reel for years without problems. The extra light airdrive spool has wall thicknesses reduced and unnecessary weight eliminated – this also contributes to the weight reduction on the front part of the reel. The Twistbuster III construction on the line roller ensures that the braided line in particular is not pressed flat when winding and that there is less twist. The Magsealed construction on the axle and in the line roller ensure fewer problems with corrosion and dirt particles, especially when fishing in salt water.
